Keeping your RealtyPress Premium plugin up to date ensures you have the latest features, bug fixes, and compatibility improvements. The good news is that updating is quick, easy, and it works just like updating any other WordPress plugin directly from your dashboard.
Where to Find Updates
When a new version of RealtyPress Premium is available, WordPress will notify you in two places:
The Updates Page
Navigate to Dashboard → Updates. If a RealtyPress Premium update is available, you’ll see it listed here. Simply click Update Now, and WordPress will download and install the new version automatically.

The Plugins Page
Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins. You’ll see a notice directly beneath the RealtyPress Premium entry with a link to update. Click Update now, and the process is handled for you.

That’s all there is to it! WordPress takes care of downloading, replacing, and reactivating the plugin.
Check for a Database Update Notice
Some updates include changes to the database structure. When this is the case, you’ll see a red notice bar at the top of your WordPress admin pages prompting you to run a database update. Not every update will trigger this notice, but it’s important to check for it after each update.
If you do see the notice, click the link to run the database update. This ensures your database structure is in sync with the new version of the plugin. Skipping this step when prompted can lead to issues with your listings or the plugin’s overall functionality.
A Few Helpful Tips
- Back up your site before updating, especially your database. Your listing data is important, and having a backup gives you peace of mind.
- Clear your cache after updating if you use a caching plugin. This ensures visitors see the latest version of your site.
- Deactivate and reactivate the plugin if anything seems off after an update. This simple step resolves most minor issues.
